As I ended my time in Joensuu, I found some interesting random things that I wanted to share with you all.

First up – this…

Joensuu stuffI don’t know if you can see it or not – it was dark by this time of the day.  That’s a hot pepper on the wall of a building.  It’s part of a clock.  Before you ask – no, I don’t know why.

Joensuu stuffI added this picture to show you that Finnish words can be really, really, really long.  I think you get the point.

And finally, this…

Joensuu stuffThis was at the train station.  I always love these types of signs.  They make the world smaller and bigger than it is at the same time.  Smaller in the sense that it points out where distant locations are and makes them seem like they are not that far away.  Larger because then I read the distance to the location and realize how big the world really is.

I’m off from blogging next week to spend time with my family in a cabin in the woods in Eastern Finland – it will be nice and relaxing. When we return, I’ll be posting on the next trip I took – to the city of Turku, Finland.  Have a great week.
