One of the most beautiful places in Salzburg is Kapitelplatz, or Capital plaza in English. It’s large, sits next to the Dom Kirche and has the best view of the castle.
I have to say, the gold orb is rather odd, especially with the dude standing on it. I’m not sure what that’s about. And no, it’s not a real person, even though that’s the typical first thought.
Did I mention that from here, you get an amazing view of the castle?
As you can see from the picture above, there are stands along the outside edge of the plaza, all ready to sell their wares to tourists. I actually bought a stein. It was reasonably priced. And I had a chance to have a little fun and feel like a real Austrian.
And while everyone is busy looking out towards the castle, don’t forget to look behind you. You’ll get some great views of the church.
