One of the neatest things to experience in Salzburg is the Stations of the Cross. I say experience because that seems to be the most accurate description.
When you find the Stations, this is what you are greeted with:
That’s right, these Stations of the Cross are not for those out of shape. It’s an uphill climb to the top. You can take the steps on the right side, or walk along the road. Regardless, it’s all uphill.
But it’s well worth it. You get to see some amazing depictions.
And there are amazing views of the city along the way too.
Following the Stations of the Cross is really a spiritual experience. I encourage you to do it sometime. There is a great deal of time for reflection and contemplation – in other words silence.
