Another must visit is Viktualienmarkt in Munich. It is the quintessential Bavarian experience.
When I was there in May with my good seminary friend Jenn (who was doing an exchange year of studies in Munich, and hence was my host), she made it a point to take me here. Let’s just say, this was one of the highlights of the trip.
Seriously, how can you not love getting your beer at a booth dedicated to just beer.
The only decision you have to make is whether you are getting a full liter or half liter. And you know it’s going to be good, because, well, you’re in Munich. There few other places in the world where the beer tastes this good.
And while here, I made my way to another booth to get something else that is just so Munich – sausage.
Yes, it was as good as it looks. My mouth is watering again right now thinking about this wunderbar food.
Ultimately, we had a great lunch and I was thrilled to have experienced this wonderful market. And don’t forget, you have to eat a pretzel too – they are great!
