Since we are not that far from Pittsburgh for the year, we decided to make a trip to the zoo.  We love seeing the animals.  The variety of creation is always so amazing to see.

At the same time, I can’t help but wonder – it is right to cage up animals just so we can observe them, study them, and then make a buck off of them?  It’s a bit uncomfortable to think about this as you walk through a zoo, free to go where you want, while the animals lounge around knowing they are limited in where they can go.  Of course, if the zoo were to close, what would happen to the animals – you can’t just release them and be done.  Lots of questions with no easy answers.

While we ponder this, enjoy the diversity and wonder of creation.
