While we were on our hike, our guide pointed out a bird.
To us it didn’t look like anything special, just another bird.
But we learned a great lesson that day. For the Icelanders, this bird is significant. They say this bird sings a song that tells the story of summer coming.
When you live on an island that is defined by cold and snow and ice, hearing that summer is coming would be a bit important. Mostly because summer doesn’t last very long here.
The lesson – looks can be deceiving. Pay attention to what is being said.
