Ok, so, I’ve traveled to some great places in my life, seen several countries, and I have to say that this was a first.  In Reykjavik, there is a park dedicated to feminists of Iceland and what they have accomplished in making the sexes more equal.

In the center of the park is a large round concrete pad with a nice design in the middle (shown above).  Unfortunately our guide didn’t tell us what the writing around the the circle was.  I imagine it’s either the names of women who contributed to women’s rights or some kind of Icelandic statement about these women.

Either way, this is something unique to Iceland as far as I can tell.  Iceland though is on the forefront of women’s rights – they have had a popular woman as prime minister (who was also openly lesbian).  Just one example.
