The Lutheran World Federation planned a large worship during the Assembly. We were headed to a stadium when it was time for worship.
We would be joining 10,000 people in commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. This was a big event. And the Namibians knew it.
A big part of this is where the worship was to take place – Katutura
Katutura is a “suburb” of Windhoek. It came into being when South Africa was in control of the country. All the blacks where shipped out of the city and sent to Katutura, which the locals say means “We don’t want to live here.”
